INFORMATION LETTER
Dear colleagues!

We would like to inform you that on April 4-5, 2007 on the National O.O. Bogomolets medical University basis will be held the international scientific and practical conference, dedicated to World Day of Health, 2007, concerning global health safety. Its motto will be: “Investment in health care – construction of the safe future”.

The Department of Social medicine and health care invites you to take part in the conference activities.

Basic directions of conference work

1. Global threats to the health in the World and Ukraine .

2. Medico-social problems of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis

3. A bird flu and SARS – new challenges to society.

4. Problems of environment degradation.

5. Poverty as a determinant of health.

6. Health care of women and children.

7. Rights of patients and medical professionals.

8. Health problems in conditions of socio-political conflicts.

9. HR (human resources) problems of health care.

10. Investments in health care.

11. Information safety.

We offer the following forms of participating in the conference

1. Oral lecture and theses publication.

2. Lecture at the stand and theses publications.

3. Theses publication.

Working languages of the conference

Ukrainian, Russian, English.

For participation in the conference it is necessary to submit a request with filled in form and theses which would be published in conference materials.

The rules of request arrangement for participation in the conference are presented in supplement I.

Requirements to the published paper (theses) arrangement.

? Papers, submitted for participation in the conference, shouldn’t be published before or submitted for publication to other editions;

? One author can publish only one paper or two papers in coauthorship;

? It is obligatory to represent briefly in the paper’s structure its purpose and task, materials and methods of its implementation, achieved results and conclusions;

? All abbreviations (except for units of measure) can be used only after citation of a term in full;

? Volume of material for publishing should not exceed 5 pages;

? A text should be printed in MS Word edition, in the A4 format with margins, upper and lower comprizing 2 cm, left – 2,5 cm, right – 1 cm.

? Parameters of formatting should be: of Times New Roman type, size of print – 14, ordinary, distance between lines should comprize 1,5 intervals;

The published paper’s structure should be following: UDK, paper’s name in capital letters, author’s initials and last name, full name of an establishment, paper’s text;

- A paper should be signed by all authors. Student’s paper should be signed by all authors and have a visa of Scientific Supervisor;

- A 3.5” diskette with two copies of text in the rtf format should be enclosed, or an electronic variant should be sent through E-mail: info@nmu.edu.ua or info_nmu@mail.ru

- All papers, corresponding to the requirements will be published in the special issue of “Scientific herald of National O.O. Bogomolets Medical University ” (professional publication of Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine), which will be sent to authors after closing of the conference.

Requirements TO an oral lecture.

Duration of an oral lecture should not exceed 10 minutes. There would be provided multimedia accompaniment of a lecture.

Appearance in discussion should not exceed 5 minutes.

Attention! The authors of papers, chosen for oral lecture by a commission, would receive additional messages and invitations before March 20, 2007 .

Requirements for poster arrangement

? A poster at the stand size should comprize 125x80 cm. (an address can be presented on a few sheets of smaller size);

? It is obligatory to represent briefly in the paper’s structure its purpose and task, materials and methods of its implementation, achieved results and conclusions;

? All abbreviations (except for units of measure) can be used only after citation of a term in full;

? A title should be arranged in the following way: the first line (or few lines if necessary) will include paper’s name in capital letters; the second line (or few lines if necessary) should include initials, the last name (names) of on author (authors); the third line should include the name of a higher educational establishment in full; the fourth line – a name of department; the fifth line – academic status, then initials, last name(es) of a scientific supervisors(ors); text of lecture;

? A stand lecture can contain illustrative material;

? A size of print of the poster’s text should be not less than 20 points;

Publication of theses, delivery of materials to authors is carried out at the expense of the conference organizers. Transport and nutrition charges would be covered by participant’s own means. Participants from other towns on their accord would be accommodated in the NMU dormitory or a room at one of Kyiv’s hotels would be reserved for them.
