KMACH “Socioterapiya” is a detoxication center, providing services on Kyiv-large scale. KMACH “Socioterapiya” consists of a diagnostic and detoxication clinic with a resuscitation unit, treatment and resuscitation clinic, in-patient therapeutic community, addiction crisis wards, outpatient rehabilitation division for the addicted to drugs and their relatives, outpatient social therapy service, drug addict preventive examination department, clinical and toxicological laboratory, offices for anonymous consulting to HIV-positive persons and drug-addicts, etc. Most of these divisions are unparalleled both in Ukraine and East European countries.

KMACH “Socioterapiya” has special rehabilitation programs for family members of the addicted to drugs, including first developed in Ukraine psycho- correction program. All action measures for rehabilitation of the clients of KMACH “Socioterapiya” are carried out within the framework of the narcological, medical and psychological rehabilitation program, which is first one in Ukraine and countries of CIS. The Program complies with the temporary sectoral unified standards for medical technologies of diagnostic and treatment process of institutional care in treatment and prophylactic establishments of Ukraine, approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with their Order №226 of as 27.07.98.

The Clinic renders day-and-night emergency narcological help to the most serious patients with psychotic and similar disorders, caused by alcohol, and drug addicted persons with withdrawal states. Staff of the Clinic consists of such specialists as narcologists, emergency physicians, psychologists, qualified medical personnel and medical advisors: neuropathist, surgeon, therapeutist, cardiologist, ophthalmologist and endocrinologist. Resuscitation department is equipped with the facilities, enabling reanimation measures, extracorporeal detoxication methods (blood ultraviolet irradiation, hemosorption, laser irradiation), hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ongoing monitoring of the patients’ condition. Clinical laboratory of the Establishment works on day and night basis. The Clinic has 35 beds, 5 beds are for resuscitation treatment and 30 are equally shared by the intensive care and observation blocks, having 15 beds each.

The Clinic is the base unit of KMACH “Socioterapiya”, where different psychotechnics and their combinations were developed and tested for the first time in Ukraine and the attempts to adapt foreign psycho- correction programs have been taken.

The Clinic has 50 beds and 100 beds in the day patient department. The clients of the Clinic stay in comfortable wards for 1, 2 and 3 beds, making the choice regarding a ward at their own discretion. Services to the sick persons are rendered as hospital, semi-inpatient and ambulant therapy. The division works day and night. The team consists of narcologists, physicians, psychologists, qualified paramedical personnel, lawyers, social workers, including former patients, sexual pathologist and required medical advisors.

On the basis of the Clinic they have created the own unique psycho- correction program, consisting of more than 80 modern psychotechnics, different methods of psychotherapy that are used at main stage of rehabilitation of the patients, suffering from drug abuse related problems of various origins, in particular:

Rehabilitation of people with chemical addiction in therapeutic communities is fast progressing method of social and psychological work, applied in the modern world in case of narcotic drugs and alcohol problems. Therapeutic communities have been known by the world for 60 years already.

Main goal of the program, implemented by TC “Maryina Shkola”, is helping its clients to refrain from taking narcotic stuff and alcohol and to become full value members of the community. With the mentioned purpose the Community uses original home rehabilitation program, which includes individual and group psychological work, work with co-addicts, therapy with activity engagement, kinesitherapy, legal counseling, work for the documents’ reissuance and etc. Ex-drug and alcohol addicts are involved in the program activities to demonstrate the way to improve life with their own examples.

The program is based on the belief in each individual person, being able to understand his/her growth. This factor is of vital importance for success of alcohol and substance abuse program.

Work of the division is arranged for the public convenience on day-and-night basis. Consulting is carried out by social workers and narcologists. Examination and tests are performed subject to severity criteria, following which treatment and rehabilitation options are offered to a client.
