The historical museum of O.O. Bogomolets National medical university was established in 2010 on the eve of 170th anniversary of the University. The idea for its organization belongs to the Rector of the University, Vice-president of National academy of medical sciences of Ukraine, academician of NAMS of Ukraine, corresponding member of NAPS of Ukraine, Honorary scientist and technician of Ukraine, Honorary doctor of Ukraine, head at department of social medicine and health protection, Professor V.F. Moskalenko.

The exposition of the museum contains such thematic sections:

• At origin: opening the medical faculty at St. Volodymyr Kyiv university in September 1841;
• New age: medical faculty and Kyiv medical institute during XIX-XX c.;
• O.O. Bogomolets National medical university – leader in higher medical education of Ukraine.

The visitor can get acquainted with the thematic exhibits, located in 14 glass units, consisting of over 900 pieces, among which there are over 450 scientific works by famous scientists-doctors, employees and graduates from the University in 1841-2011.
The museum has the personal things, photo materials and scientific works by academicians and professors: Pirogov M.I., Karavayev V.O., Bets V.O., Walter O.P., Matveyev O.P., Volkovych M.M., Bogomolets O.O., Korchak-Chepurkibskyy O.V., Amosov M.M., Bernadskyy Yu.Y., Bratus V.D., Goncharuk Ye.G., Gromashevskyy L.V., Danylevskyy M.F., Zazybin M.I., Ivanov V.M., Kalyuzhnyy D.M., Kysil O.A., Kozlov M.I., Krymov O.P., Lavryk S.S., Lurie O.Yu., Marzeyev O.M., Medvid L.I., Mering F.F., Romodanov A.P., Sidelnikov V.M., Strazhesko M.D., Subbotin V.A., Cherkes O.I., Shymanovskyy Yu.K., Yanovskyy F.G.
The medical tools and devices from XIX – beginning of XX c., related to the history of the University, are also represented. The exhibits, devoted to famous graduates from the University V.F. Voyno-Yasenetskyy (St. Luka), play-writer and writer M.A. Bulgakov and world-known cardiologist, Laureate of Nobel Prize for Peace, academician Ye.I. Chazov, are very interesting.
